Hi! My name is James Simmons, and I absolutely LOVE officiating weddings! I am a proud father of 3 beautiful kids! My beautiful daughter Kaylee, my boys Luke and Levi. Grandfather of two. My daughter Kaylee and son-in-law Brendon gave me my grandson Harrison and granddaughter Brycelyn Olive! I am so honored to be inducted into The Knot Hall of Fame by couples just like you! Reverend Steven Salazar is a bilingual Spanish and English wedding officiant. He has spent more than 23 years sharing the gospel around the world and was ordained in 2014 by the late Bishop Kenneth Phillips, and again in 2022 under Oasis Church by Bishop Jonathan and Pastor Stephanie Suber. He currently serves as Prayer Director at Oasis Church, overseeing a team of 80+ and assisting Bishop Suber in ministry. Throughout his years of service, Steven has ministered as an evangelist, missionary to Liberia, and teacher dedicated to equipping believers in their God-given purpose. He has officiated dozens of weddings and remains connected with many of the couples he has married. Steven considers it a true joy and honor to be part of such a meaningful moment in your life and is grateful to be considered as your officiant.

For Caleb, weddings are more than events, they’re once-in-a-lifetime moments filled with love, meaning, and connection. With experience guiding 200+ weddings as a DJ/MC and coordinating over 100 celebrations, he brings a deep understanding of how to shape a day that feels effortless, personal, and unforgettable. With 3+ years in the wedding industry, he has a calming presence couples lean on, a warm energy guests feel, and a passion for love stories that shines in every ceremony he officiates. He believes every couple deserves to feel heard, supported, and celebrated, not only on their wedding day, but throughout the journey leading up to it.

Austin Area Weddings began in 2012 with a clear goal, to give couples in Central Texas a ceremony that feels personal and true to their story. The idea started when James Simmons discovered his calling at 42 after years in ministry and corporate leadership. His background in public speaking and his natural connection with people shaped the heart of the business.

As demand grew, James built a team of warm, experienced officiants who share his commitment to clear communication, steady guidance, and ceremonies that fit each couple’s style. You get a process that feels simple and organized from the first call to the walk back up the aisle. The team handles the small details so you can stay focused on each other.
